David Magriso and Eyal Ron successfully representated Israel Railways Ltd. in a large settlement agreement with the contractor of the railways’ electrical infrastructure. As part of the agreement, and in order to accelerate the electrification project, in which underlies Israel Railways’ ability to continue to provide essential service, the contractual agreement was amended; and into it were inserted various mechanisms designed to eliminate disputes that have arisen between the parties, and to allow acceleration of the project that has been stalling for two years.
The extent of the settlement agreement is about half a billion NIS and as far as is known, it is the largest amount ever paid in a settlement with a government-owned company.
The settelment agreement was reviewed and approved by the monitoring company of the railways’ project, and was specifically approved by Israel’s Minister of Transport and Minister of Finance.
