Partners Joseph Benkel, Chen Nusel and Associate Edya Weltman together with intern Roni Mor Yosef successfully represented Light TLV NTA Ltd. from Shapir engineering Group, in a petition brought to the court by Urbanix, seeking to annul the tender committee’s decision to disqualify Urbanix’s bid and overrule the Shapir Group’s win in a tender to finance, build and operate the Tel Aviv light rail purple line (worth 30 billion NIS).
As part of the court ruling, the claims of Urbanix were rejected, and it was determined that the invalidation of its proposal was due to pressure from the American government not to allow Chinese companies to win infrastructure projects in Israel. In the process, it was decided to uphold Shapir’s rightful win.
