Joseph Benkel, Shmuel Galinka, Nati Agmon, and Jonathan Kissos represented a long line of senior lawyers in a petition to the Supreme Court in connection with the previous government’s decision, on the election eve, setting a government commission to examine the Department of Police Investigations. Claiming that a transitional government is not allowed to use its governmental power for the establishment of a government review committee.
The Supreme Court issued an interim order and conditional order, banning the committee activities.
In February 2021, a year after the government failed to provide a response, the Supreme Court issued an absolute order banning the appointment of the committee and ruled expenses in favor of the petitioners.
