Two years ago, Israel Competition Authority opposed to a merger between El Al and Israir, but the Coronavirus crisis fundamentally changed the conditions in the aviation industry, and raised concerns about the survival of the three Israeli airlines – accordingly, the chances that the merger would be approved increased.
