The first European report according to CBAM regulation

Galit Ofer and Lishi Koren, from the Department of Environment and Sustainability, in collaboration with Training & Sher Consulting and the attorney’s office Gecic Law, assisted clients in editing and submitting the first European report to CBAM (Carbon Tax Adjustment Mechanism at the European Borders).

The client, Israeli exporters in the relevant sectors and among others aluminum, steel and iron, were required to submit the first report under European regulation on 31.01.2024 in relation to the last quarter of 2023. From now on, customers will submit updated quarterly reports, and starting in 2026, they will also be required to pay the tax in relation to their actual carbon emissions on products imported to Europe.
